Could Palace’s Wharton make England’s Euros squad?
With the Euros just around the corner, England manager Gareth Southgate has some tough decisions to make regarding his final squad selection. One player who could potentially make the cut is Crystal Palace’s talented young defender, Will Wharton.
Wharton has been a standout performer for Palace this season, impressing with his composure on the ball, defensive awareness, and ability to read the game. At just 21 years old, he already looks like a seasoned pro and has the potential to be a future England regular.
Although Wharton has yet to earn a senior international call-up, his performances at club level have not gone unnoticed. With Southgate known for giving young players a chance, Wharton could be in with a shout of making the squad for the Euros.
Of course, competition for places in England’s defence is fierce, with the likes of Harry Maguire, John Stones, and Joe Gomez all vying for spots. But if Wharton continues to impress and develop at his current rate, he could well force his way into Southgate’s plans.
So, could Palace’s Wharton make England’s Euros squad? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – he certainly has the talent and potential to do so.
